Squally showers, from Gurnard’s Head

IMG_7572Fresh off the easel! Another 20cm square oil painting in my Cornish coastal series. This was the dramatic view on a fresh March day from Gurnard’s Head in north Penwith, a few miles west of St Ives.

Beneath shows the painting at a preliminary stage, the initial blocking in of the shapes and colours.
