Finished yesterday, a small oil painting of the lovely secluded Pwll Du Bay on The Gower Peninsula. This is one of my favourite places to walk, swim and of course, draw and paint. It is a sheltered bay, a quiet place, relatively secluded. The stream, which has meandered its way through the wooded Bishopston Valley, filters through the limestone pebbles of the storm beach, and emerges to tumble over the sand and pebbles to the sea. One of the two houses in the picture was once a pub which in the nineteenth century helped quench the thirsts of local quarrymen.
10 x 10 inches, oil on canvas board.
